The most valuable classic cars are much more than transportation. These moving collectibles are art pieces and a form of investment. These are truly astounding machines, and we’d like to list the most sought after and valuable classic cars just to reveal their worth.

Countless criteria are used to define a classic or vintage car: from its year and make, to which years it served as a racecar and who owned and drove it. Classic cars are always in a fashion, which makes these cars worth their price.

Here are Five of the Most Valuable Classic Cars:

1. 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa:
You probably know this as the classic movie car. As possibly the best car in the world, it is extremely rare. Winning many races with its v12 engine, it is extremely fast and powerful. They are so rare that only 22 cars of this model were made and they sold at auction for $12.1 million.

2. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder:

To no surprise, we have another Ferrari on the list. The Ferrari 250GT was driven by actor James Coburn and it’s another well-known movie car. It was also sold in auction at the price tag of $10.9 million in 2008 with 50 models made.

3. 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Kellner:

While this is a French company, the designer of their cars is Italian engineer that designs light bodies with a lot of attention to detail. Bugatti type 41 Royale Kellner has the largest and most powerful engine. Only 6 cars of this model were made in the world sold for $10 million and typically are seen only in Europe.

4. 37 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster:
Only 26 cars of this stunning car were made. This car was originally was used for races, which is what brought it world attention. They sold at auction for almost $8.2 million.

5. 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe:

The Shelby Daytona is a very classic car that was made specifically for racing. This model is the only car that beat a Ferrari in any racing competition. It was made in a limited number of 6 cars and was sold for $7.25 million.
