There’s no time like spring, is there? The air is warming up, there’s a wildflower “super bloom,” and we’re dreaming of upcoming car shows! We’ve compiled a list of can’t-miss car shows coming up in California this April and May.
If you’re out west over the next two months, be sure to drop in to one of these events.
This event, which takes place in Del Mar, CA April 5 – 7, boasts over 2,500 classics, customs, hot rods and muscle cars. This year’s event will feature an indoor car show, PPG Lowrider Palace display, Goodguys Autocross racing, and plenty of the vendor exhibits you love.
Don’t lose your wallet in El Segundo! Go to this celebration of IMSA’s 50th anniversary instead! You’ll witness the west coast introduction of the Mitch Bishop/Mark Raffauf book, IMSA 1969-1989. You’ll also enjoy a gala dinner, films and more, presented by Porsche. This event is held at the Automobile Driving Museum April 6, 2019.
Come to La Jolla April 12 through 14 to see an internationally renowned classic automobile showcase in the U.S. They’ll be honoring Cadillac, celebrating 100 years of Bentley, and commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March 1 Mustang. This show truly can’t be beat.
This is always a solid show to hit. Between the West Coast’s largest swap meet and thousands of original and restored ‘Vettes, Porsches and Street Rods, you’re sure to find something you’ll like. This event takes place April 14th in Pomona.
Here’s an event in Barstow for all you Hunter S. Thompson fans out there. On April 24th, Motor-Scooter International proudly presents its 5th annual running of Hell’s Loop 400-mile motor-scooter road race.
Triumph lovers, this one’s for you. Come to Buttonwillow, California (yes, it’s a real place) May 4 and 5 to see an all Triumph exclusive race featuring famous Triumphs from all over North America. This race is hosted by Kas Kastner with special guest automotive designer Peter Brock. This event will also host classic and modern British cars to drool over.
Taking place in Chatsworth, CA, May 5, this event is open to all makes and models of 1900-2019 cars and trucks. It’s free to spectators and there will be a Chevrolet 350 engine raffle.
May Madness, in San Rafael, CA, is the longest running street rod show in Northern Cali. If you visit on May 11, 2019, you’ll see hundreds of classic cars, hot rods and customs, including Model Ts, Woodies, Bel Airs, and more. Worth a trip if you’re driving up the coast this spring.
Come to Irwindale, CA on May 18 to this event created by Steve Gibbs, former VP of Competition for the NHRA. Gibbs was instrumental in the development of the California Hot Rod Reunion. Now, he’s bringing his own particular style to this one-of-a-kind show, which will feature historic race cars and unique hot rods.
This is a new event we’re really excited about. Come to Sonoma May 30 through June 2 to witness 10 invited race groups that will span the history of motorsports, and sample the world-class food and wine that will be on offer.
